In Windows 2000, all you have to do is attach a postscript printer driver to the "file" port:

Start Button / Settings / Control Panel / Printers
Add Printer (double click)
The next screen should be a small box called "Add Printer Wizard" and should show 2 radio buttons: Local Printer and Network Printer. Select "Local Printer" and the Next button.
From the Available Ports list, scroll to the bottom to selet "FILE:Print to file" port and click Next. After some delay, a list of known manufacturers and printers appears.
From the Manufacturers list, select HP; from the printer list select "HP ColorLaserJet PS" or similar and click Next.
Rename the printer simply "Postscript"
You can set it as the default printer if you want, but you probably don't since this  printer is only for creating PostScript files.
